Microsoft has rolled out a new wave of Xbox Insider features that give players greater control over game captures, cloud saves, achievement tracking, and wishlists. The update is now available for Xbox Insiders, with some features already expanding to all Xbox users while others remain exclusive to the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring for testing.
These quality-of-life improvements focus on making the Xbox experience more flexible, whether you’re recording memorable multiplayer moments, managing saved games, or organizing your growing game library.
Record Party Chat in Game Captures
One of the most requested features is finally arriving.
Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring can now include party chat audio in gameplay captures. Players can choose whether party conversations are recorded, while each participant has full control over whether their own voice is included. This privacy-first approach ensures nobody is recorded without opting in.
Outside of party chat, supported games can also include in-game voice chat in recorded clips, making it easier to preserve those unforgettable multiplayer moments.
Achievement History Gets Better Filters
Finding specific games in your achievement history is now much easier.
Instead of only viewing games by the “Last Played” order, Xbox Insiders can now sort their achievement history by:
- Game name
- Completion percentage
- Gamerscore earned
- Number of achievements unlocked
Each category supports both ascending and descending sorting, helping completionists and Gamerscore hunters track progress more efficiently.
Restore Older Cloud Saves
Microsoft is also introducing a long-awaited improvement to Xbox cloud saves.
Players can now restore previously synced cloud save versions directly from their console in supported games. The feature launches first with Forza Horizon 6, allowing users to browse older save versions and recover previous progress if needed.
Support for additional games is expected in future updates.
Xbox Wishlists Grow to 1,000 Games
Good news for players who love keeping track of upcoming releases.
Xbox has increased the maximum wishlist size from its previous limit to 1,000 games. This feature is already available to all Xbox players, making it much easier to organize future purchases, build a backlog, or monitor games waiting for a discount.
Rolling Out in Stages
As with most Xbox Insider releases, not every feature is available to everyone immediately.
- Chat audio in captures is currently limited to the Alpha Skip-Ahead Insider ring.
- Achievement sorting is also being tested with Alpha Skip-Ahead users.
- Cloud save restoration is expanding to more Xbox Insiders before a wider rollout.
- 1,000-game wishlists are already available for all Xbox players.
