Microsoft has released the Xbox One May 2020 update for the gamers bringing in a number of improvements and enhancements.
Build: 10.0.19041.2490 (rs_xbox_release_2005.200507-0000) is now available for download and carries updates to the community hub (which splits the page into four sections) as well as the new precise filtering options for your games and apps.
For players who enjoy watching streams on Mixer, live thumbnails option has been introduced. With this feature, you can take a short glimpse into a stream before jumping in to an available live-stream.
Here is what’s new:
Community enhancements
The updated Community page on Xbox One makes it clearer where your content is coming from and how to explore Xbox Live. This improved layout splits the page into four new channels:
- Shared by friends
- Official posts from games
- Club activity
- Popular on Xbox Live
More precise filtering in your games & apps
We’ve added a couple of new filtering options for your games & apps: genre and player count. Try this out with the Surprise Me! button for even more catered results when you’re looking for something different to play.
Another Mixer improvement
Added with the May release, live thumbnails make it way easier to get a glimpse into a stream before jumping in. Take a scroll through what’s happening on Mixer and find a new favorite streamer.
To find your console’s OS version:
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select System > Settings.
- Select System > Console info.
- Your OS version is located in the second column.
Note: If you’re in the middle of a system update and need to find your OS version on your console, pull the left and right triggers and the left and right bumpers on your controller at the same time. The OS version is listed as Build.
