At Beijing event in China, Xiaomi announced the new Mi Notebook Pro 15.6″. The Notebook Pro 15.6″ is an ultra-portable laptop equipped with world’s first batch of 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor.
Learning from the past experience, Xiaomi has invested in a decent set of hardware powerful and efficient enough to create, edit and share graphics rendering and video content in near real time. In other words, the new Notebook Pro 15.6″ performs 40% better than its predecessor. All praise to the 8th gen Quad-core Intel Core i7 processor which can operate at a maximum frequency of 4.0GHz, which is insane!
The display is a 15.6″ full HD screen with an ultra-narrow field of vision layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen to body ratio is 81.5% protected by an all metal reinforced magnesium alloy casing for sturdiness.
But then what better is a Notebook without a powerful GPU. The new Notebook Pro 15.6″ has a discrete GeForce MX150 GPU (2GB GDDR5) which delivers 32% more graphics power for a smoother 1080p full HD gameplay with realistic scenes rendering, more delicate light and shadow performance.
The Notebook Pro 15.6″ supports up to 16GB of DDR4 (2400MHz) dual channel memory. This provides faster app launch times (about 80%) compared to the single channel bandwidth.
The storage options include a 256GB PCIe NVMe high-speed solid-state hard drive. This uses a more advanced PCIe x 4 bus interface, a single transmission channel extended to 4-channel. In addition, hard drive read and write speeds are at least 3 times faster than SATA solid-state. You can also expand the memory thanks to a reserved SSD card slot.
The cooling system has also been re-engineered with a symmetrical cooling design with double inbound and outbound air flow for a quick cool down. Two large diameter double fan with a large diameter heat pipe deliver efficient cooling due to large area thermal conductivity.
