The much-awaited Alexa app for Windows 10 has finally made its way into the Microsoft Store. You might be familiar with the news already as Dell and various other PC manufacturers have already made it possible for Alexa to make its debut on their selected PCs. With Amazon Alexa coming onto the Microsoft Store, the digital assistant is no longer restricted to any particular model.
Just to give a flashback, Microsoft and Amazon are working together to integrate Alexa into Windows 10 so that both the digital assistant can work together which again will be beneficial to the end user. The app here though will not be as functional as Cortana on Windows 10 for obvious reasons, but it can certainly perform some basic stuff like checking your calendar, play music, create lists, etc. However, the app is available only in the US, UK, and Germany as of now but the company promises to go live in more market in 2019.
To give you a glimpse, here is what you ask her after installing the app:
- ”Alexa, what’s on my calendar today?”
- “Alexa, read me a book.”
- “Alexa, turn on the light.”
- “Alexa, what’s the weather at home?”
