It looks like the Facebook app is making its way back in the Microsoft Store and this time not as a full blown desktop app but more of a PWA that will require a user on Windows to install the latest and greatest version of Microsoft Edge browser. (Via Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter)
Previously, in case you are not aware, Facebook sent emails to many users on Windows 10 confirming the shut down of the desktop app after February 28, 2020.
However, the team has now re-released a Beta version of the app and technically allows you to do all kinds of actions that you would expect from a normal “facebook.com” website when opened in a web browser including the ability to enable Dark Mode as well as a “Compact Mode” which makes your font size smaller so more content can fit on the screen.
Another feature is the ability to use Keyboard shortcuts to perform quick actions like leaving comments on a post, like/unlike a post, creating a new post and etc.
Overall, the app runs very smoothly and installation is super fast- which is no surprise being a PWA.
Note: You should be running Windows 10 version 19003.0 or higher, Windows 10 version 16299.0 or higher, Xbox One
