Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Joe Belfiore is widely recognized as one of the most Windows Phone friendly Microsoft employee by fans. He is back from his sabbatical and was seen actively presenting Windows innovations during Build 2017. Now in an interview, Joe Belfiore has talked about Windows Phone briefly.

On asking about future of Windows Phones, he says that Microsoft will continue supporting Windows Phone.

“We’re going to continue to support Windows Phone,” says Belfiore. But Windows is opening up its borders a little bit, in recognition of the realities that people are using multiple devices running on a variety of operating systems.

“Windows is a platform that drives the experience on a whole range of devices,” he says. “We live in a highly diverse world.”

Joe also hinted at Windows hugging iOS and Android platforms more closely in coming days. But it is not clear what level of support if any, will Microsoft offer to Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile.

With Windows 10 on ARM showing its chops in this official video, it really seems doubtful that Microsoft will not bring full Windows 10 on ARM on phones. It is another thing that Microsoft may still call Windows 10 on ARM running on phones / mobile devices as Windows 10 Mobile.
