Microsoft introduces a brand new news engine called Microsoft News which will power MSN.com, Microsoft News app for Android and iOS and the news app in Windows 10, Skype, Xbox, and Outlook.com. Microsoft News also powers news on Microsoft Edge. The Firm states that AI plays a crucial role here in scanning contents.

The Redmond giant is working with more than a thousand premium publishers and 3000 brands in all major global markets to aggregate news, videos and photos for free to people all over the world. Besides AI Microsoft also has human editors and publishing partnerships for curating news.

Although the new engine does not offer any refreshment from UI perspective, it does things with a lot more efficiency. If you own an Android or iOS device you can right now test Microsoft News. Microsoft News app is available on both Android and iOS with an option for a dark theme. The app was earlier available on both Android and iOS as MSN News which means that if you already have MSN installed on either of the devices you should do an update to feel the changes.

Microsoft has come into the news business in 1995 with the name MSN. It reaches as many as half a billion people in more than 140 countries and 28 languages. In 23 years, it is for the first time Microsoft is changing the name from MSN News to Microsoft News.
