Microsoft may be working on a 1st-party hardware (Surface device/phone) powered by yet unannounced 2018 flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. A recent job opening posted by ABAL Technologies that has worked as an HR provider frim with Microsoft seeks to hire someone with testing experience on Qualcomm 835 and 845 processors.

The job opening is for hardware test engineer/manufacturing engineer. That Microsoft is working on a foldable mobile device that will be powered by Andromeda, the full Windows 10 on ARM + Cshell has featured in lots of leaks/rumors recently. We recently reported about some features/specs/UI design details about Surface Phone/Mobile exclusively. We also shared about how the Surface Mobile will be different from the earlier leaked Microsoft Courier concept.

The job opening also mentions that the to-be-hired engineer will have to travel a lot in next six months. This includes many trips to China and the applicant needs to have experience of working with Asian CM Suppliers. This may further hint at Microsoft planning to enter the prototyping/pilot production stage of the device within next 6 months. We had exclusively reported that 2018 may see Surface Mobile (Surface Phone) & Windows mobile devices from top vendors too.
