Yesterday Microsoft announced rechristening Windows 10 Insider rings as Insider channels and now we have the first preview build for the Beta Channel. This first Beta build 19042.330 is also the first preview build for Windows 10 20H2, the next Windows 10 feature update.
The Build 19042.330 brings Chromium Edge, the new Edge browser with itself. It also packs all the fixes from the Windows 10 version 2004 update KB4557957. You can read all the fixes that update KB4557957 brought with itself by clicking here.
Microsoft mentions that the Build 19042.330 will get installed only when an insider will seek to check and install Windows 10 20H2 via Windows update. Further 20H2 builds will get installed automatically once an insider installs this first build on his PC.
We are releasing Build 19042.330 to Insiders in the Beta Channel via our “seeker” experience in Windows Update. This means Insiders will need to go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and choose to download and install 20H2. Once an Insider updates their PC to 20H2, they will continue to automatically receive new 20H2 updates through Windows Update using our using servicing technology (like the monthly update process).
