Microsoft is discontinuing another futuristic feature on Windows 10. On his Twitter handle, Albacore confirms that People bar might not make it to the next major release of Windows 10. This is another story of how Microsoft failed due to lack of developer support.
In upcoming 19H1 Insider builds, the People Bar will show a deprecation notice. It's a shame to see something like this with rather interesting engineering behind it kick the bucket.

Microsoft introduced the People bar with Redstone 3 and it was one of the clever features. But since then things did not turn out as it was expected to be. People bar suffered because some big names like WhatsApp did not pay much attention to the effort. Except for Microsoft’s own apps and some not so popular chat messanger, People bar was like a burden to the OS, sitting there for nothing.
However, it is now ready to die and if all goes as planned then People bar is not coming back to the Windows 10 taskbar ever again.
