New OneNote insider update brings virtual ruler & faster search

Microsoft has released December insider update for OneNote. The update is now available for insiders in both Fast and Slow rings. The current Insider update version is 17.8827.2012, which is a preview of the December 2017 feature update. This feature update will roll out to everyone once Microsoft completes testing with the help of insiders.

The December insider update for OneNote brings virtual ruler & faster search. Read the full changelog below.

  • On Windows touch devices, you can use the Ruler on the Draw tab of the Ribbon to draw straight lines or to measure distance. The ruler pivots to any position you want: horizontal, vertical, or any angle in between. It has a degrees setting so that you can set it at a precise angle, if necessary. You can manipulate the ruler by using your fingers.
  • Search just got faster! Your search results now appear instantaneously, making it easier to get back to your notes.
