Microsoft has released a fresh new firmware update (April 2017) for its Surface Pro 3 device. The latest firmware update v38.12.70.0 doesn’t introduce any new features but according to the official changelog, it improves upon the system stability and performance when you change between power states.
The update also includes optional WinTab drivers.
If you are carrying around a Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10, the update will be downloaded and installed automatically on your machine via Windows Update. To manually check for updates, head to Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update and check for updates.
Alternatively, you can also download the update directly from Microsoft Download center, but this method is usually recommended for enterprises for custom image deployment.
