Microsoft has released the August 2017 firmware update for Surface Pro 3 owners. This update will be slowly available to all Surface Pro 3 devices running on Windows 10 Anniversary Update version 1607 and enables support for the new Surface Pro Type Cover and the Surface Pro Signature Type Covers.

These updates are delivered via Windows Update and are installed automatically.
However, you can manually check for updates by following the steps below.
Step 1: On your PC, go to Start, and select Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update.
Step 2: Select Check for updates. If updates are available, they will install automatically.
Step 3: You may need to restart your Surface after the updates have installed.
