The low-cost surface tablet may launch on July 13

A low-cost Surface tablet is on its way to hit the consumer market, most likely on July 13 this year. We have earlier reported that Microsoft might be working on a low-cost Surface tablet which would compete against the iPad Pro. Out of nowhere, a Reddit user posted a document which clearly shows the authenticity of the release date. The leaked document, however, does not provide any further details about the iPad Pro killer.

We have earlier predicted that Microsoft could launch the device at its hardware event sometime in October. But now things have changed and we will see the unveiling this week. Obviously, Microsoft is not holding any separate event to showcase the device unlike what was the case with any version of Surface Pro. It means the showcasing will be much more like what it was with the Surface Hub 2. But unlike the Surface Hub 2, we expect Microsoft to release much more detail about the product and of course the availability.

The 10 inch Surface tablet has two variant. A lighter model will be powered by Intel Pentium N5000 with four-core x86 SoC with a clock rate of up to 2.7 GHz. The flagship one will possess an impressive Intel Pentium gold 4415Y CPU which operates at 1.5 GHz. Both of them possess Intel Pentium processor and a 4GB of a primary memory.
