Facebook (Meta) is planning to bring native WhatsApp experience to the Windows 10 and Windows 11 users. In fact, a Beta app for the WhatsApp UWP app is already available in the Microsoft store now.
The existing WhatsApp desktop app for Windows is more like web-wrapper for the “Web for Whatsapp” with some added features. With WhatsApp UWP Beta app, Facebook is now giving Windows users the first taste of the native experience. The Beta app can be installed now by clicking on the link below.
Currently the Beta app doesn’t look as feature-rich as the existing Desktop app and lacks features like statuses and Dark theme. But, Facebook has been prompt at adding new features to the Beta app on other platforms. The good thing is that you can currently run both WhatsApp Desktop app and WhatsApp Beta apps simultaneously.
