Skype for Windows 10 app


Microsoft has released several updates to Skype apps on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS and the Web.

All the cool new features are currently in preview and are rolling out gradually over the next couple of days to Insiders. (Skype 8.66.76.49)

What’s New?

  • Up to 100 participants in the call! We have increased the limit for group calls from 50 to 100 participants!

Skype for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Web 

  • Yes, you in the back: Have a question in a group call? No need to come off mute just yet, because you can now raise your hand in group calls. Learn more about what you can do in a Skype call
  • Call the number on your screen: You can now set Skype to be the default calling app for numbers you find on web sites, so you can just click the number and call via Skype. 
  • Welcome to Safari, pal: You can now join a Meet Now call from Safari on your Mac desktop. Learn more about Meet Now
  • Let me see your ID: Just got invited to a call with an ID? Now you can paste that ID directly into Skype to join. Learn more about joining calls
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements. We’ve sent some bugs packing and made a few general improvements.

What’s fixed?

  • The language settings automatically changed to English.
  • Favorite contacts disappeared from contact list on Windows.
  • Signing out was freezing the app on Android.
  • Uploading/downloading files on Android was not fully working.
