For those on the Windows 10 November Update, version 1511 (released in 2015), Microsoft will no longer be providing security and quality updates after October 10, 2017. This has already been reported before and should be a wake-up call to get the latest build of Windows 10 to continue to receive comprehensive security updates.

Windows 10 devices running version 1511 will no longer receive Microsoft recommends updating devices to the latest version of Windows 10 by visiting the Windows Security page and selecting Verify you’re updated to manually update your device. Since version 1511, Microsoft has released 2 feature updates (Anniversary Update – Build 14393 and Creators Update – Build 15063) that build upon each other to deliver the newest features and strong security.

To check which version of Windows 10 you are running, follow the steps below.

Click on start and begin typing winver and then press Enter.

This opens the About Windows dialog box. If your version is listed as 1511 or earlier, it is recommended to update your device to the latest version of Windows 10 by either downloading an ISO or through Windows Update service. (Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update)
