With the release of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20161, Microsoft also announced the public roll out of graphic mode feature for Windows Calculator.
Graphic mode, as per Microsoft, was one of the top requested features and finally it has been made available with the Windows 10 May 2020 update.
The new graphing capabilities in Windows Calculator app will be very beneficial for students who want to learn linear algebra (Mathematics) through visual learning and do not want to download/purchase a third-party tool to do so.
Key features
- Plot one or more equations on the graph. Enter multiple equations so that you can compare plots against each other and see interactions between the lines.
- Add equations with variables. If you enter equations with variables (e.g., y = mx + b), you’ll be able to update the value of those variables to see the changes live on the graph.
- Analyze the graph. Trace plots with your mouse or keyboard and analyze equations to help identify key graph features, like the x- and y-intercepts.
To use all the above mentioned features, you should be running Windows 10 Version 2004 aka May 2020 Update and download/update the Calculator app from the Microsoft Store.
