Windows Core OS aka WCOS is Microsoft’s new unified OS in works, and is considered to be the future of Windows. It is supposed to power all kind of devices and new form factors.
While we have been reporting leaks and rumors rrelated to the Windows Core OS, the WCOS has now appeared in Microsoft’s official documentation related to Windows 10 app deployment by using Microsoft Intune.
As one can notice in the screenshot above WCOS appears in the list of various Windows versions and won’t support “.MSI”, “.IntuneWin” and “Office C2R” app types.
Now, some recent leaks have revealed that Microsoft may be planning to separate the Windows Core OS and Features experience for various versions of the Windows CoreOS. It also appeared in a Geekbench listing sometime ago.
