Microsoft has provided detailed recommended hardware configurations for three Tablet categories. It has categorized smartphones in 7” Tablet, 8” Tablet and Large Tablet” categories and has also listed the recommended specifications for various components.
Tablets are a versatile form factor that overlap the smartphone and notebook industry. A tablet device combines a touch screen, rechargeable power source, and other components into a single chassis with an optional attachable keyboard.
7” and 8” Tabs are quite interesting!! 7” Tabs are marked as low cost, will come running Windows 10 Mobile and will support continuum for phones. 8” Tabs will run Windows 10 and will pack lots of goodies like USB-C and wired / wireless docking, but will lack Windows Hello. It is also worth noting that the maximum recommended size for Large Tablets is 12.5 inches. Microsoft is also focusing on making Tablets thinner. Check the full detailed list below.
