In case you are facing Windows activation issue after installing the latest Windows 10 preview build 17063, you are not alone. Many users have reported this issue after upgrading their insider PCs to Build 17063.
We faced this issue on one of our PCs that has Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Single Language. The root cause of this issue seems to be that due to wrong targeting at Microsoft’s end, PCs running “Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Single Language” get “Windows 10Â Home Insider Preview” after updating to Build 17063.
Since the digital entitlement of “Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Single Language” version can’t activate the “Windows 10Â Home Insider Preview” hence users start facing activation issue after upgrade to Build 17063. The only way to fix this activation issue is to restore your PC to Build 17046 by using recovery option of returning to a previous build.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. Here you will see Go back to an earlier build option, with a get started button. Just click on the get started button and follow the instructions to return to Build 17046.
Unless Microsoft fixes this issue at their end you would face Windows activation issue if you again update to Build 17063 by using Windows update.
