The news about Microsoft retail stores selling Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in US was a bit of mild shock for hard-core Microsoft and Windows 10 Mobile fans. But seems more surprise is in store, as official Microsoft Store in China has already been selling another Android smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is now available to buy online at Chinese Microsoft Store. The phone will come pre-loaded with Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Skype. This sounds less Microsoft-ized than the Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus Microsoft editions, which will be sold starting April 21 in US.

So, Microsoft selling Android Phone is now not unimaginable anymore. This however begs the question, why Microsoft killed Nokia X family of Android devices, if it ever foresaw a dire possibility of selling 3rd party Android Phones, for the sake of just pre-loading its apps and services on them. Microsoft’s Mobile strategy hardly makes sense these days anyway.
