Google may soon add a new toggle to Chrome browser that will allow to switch between Tab hover cards and traditional tab tooltips. Chrome 91 removed the flag that allowed to disable the Tab hover cards but the change was not welcomed by everyone.
But a new patch has been added to Chromium Gerrit that aims to bring an interesting “Added setting for Tab Hover Cards”. The code changes reveals the addition of code for creating toggle to switch between Tab hover cards and traditional tab tooltips. Check the code change screenshots below.
Since Microsoft Edge is based on Chromium, if this change doesn’t get removed by Google in future, will flow to Edge automatically. Currently Microsoft Edge doesn’t show the Tab hover cards by default and one needs to enable it via a flag. Perhaps a toggle will be much better allowing to enable or disable Tab hover cards on the go.
