HTC sends press invite for 19th August US event. HTC W8 incoming

It seems, HTC is all set to launch its flagship Windows Phone for Verizon now. While it has been rumored as coming by evleaks and Engadget, we could dig and find it passing WiFi certification as HTC6995LVW. Adduplex database entry for HTC6995LVW confirmed it having 5-inch, 1080p display screen.

Now, HTC has sent press invites for a 19th August event in US. So, connecting the dots takes us to Flagship HTC W8 aka “One for Windows” for Verizon announcement on 19th August.

While the device seems to bring all the goodies like dual-cameras & Boomsound from its Android counterpart HTC M8, we think it will launch running Snapdragon 800 unlike Snapdragon 801 of M8. Reason being, Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 still doesn’t support Snapdragon 801. The GDR2 is supposed to bring new hardware support for Windows Phone, as far as we know.
