Shame that Verizon has been quietly sitting on Lumia 929 aka Lumia Icon release, when the device passed FCC long time back and has been rumored and leaked multiple times (even from Verizon’s website). What has happened now is most bizzare though and Lumia 929 is already being sold on China’s biggest online retailer “TaoBao”. This is imported Verizon variant and the logo and start screen bear Verizon name. Have a look at some of the images of the retail units below,
According to the retailer, the device supports three modes of China Mobile and China Unicom networks. Though the pricing at TaoBao may not reveal anything about its real pricing at Verizon, but still it can be had at a pretty cool pricing of Yuan 3800 (USD 630) in China.
This listing brings us to the question of whether Verizon has the Lumia Icon in stock already? Verizon! Can you still keep buyers waiting? On a second thought, may be the launch is around the corner.
