Microsoft’s premier digital note-taking app, OneNote is receiving a major new update in the Google Play Store for Android.

If you are a frequent OneNote user on Android, head over to the Play Store where you can find the new update for the app with version 16.0.8625.2040.

So, What’s new? well, two major features have dropped to make your OneNote content more safe and secure.

When creating a new section, OneNote users can now set a password to a section to keep their notes safe.

Additionally, if you have an Android device with a fingerprint ID, you and only you can access the OneNote section created above.

Let’s see how to set a password to an existing section.

  1. Open the OneNote app and browse to sections screen.
  2. Long tap on a section and tap protect section.
  3. Punch in the password and confirm password.
  4. Done! You can now see a lock icon next to the section.

To open the password-protected section, tap on it and confirm the password. This is when you have the opportunity to opt to unlock the section with a fingerprint scan, next time!
