A report form TOI claims that Indian manufacturer Lava is going to launch a budget minded Windows Phone 8.1 in early July. Lava had earlier confirmed plans to launch Windows Phone devices. This device which will be the lightest yet Windows Phone, but still will feature a 4.7 inch display.
Indian mobile devices brand Xolo is all set to soon launch what could be world’s lightest phone.
Sources told TOI Tech that the company is gearing up to introduce its first Windows Phone-based, ultra-light smartphone in early July. The phone, part of its Xolo Win series, will run on Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system.
It may weigh well below 100 gm and may come for a price around 12000 INR, which will put it against likes of Lumia 625 and recently release Lumia 630. The report further claims that it will be powered by Snapdragon 200-8212 quad-core processor.
Indian manufactures have come on-board with Windows Phone plans after Microsoft has waived off the licensing fee. Micromax is reportedly launching two Windows Phone devices tomorrow. Karbonn is also working on Windows Phone devices.
