In this tutorial cum hands-on demo video we will walk you through a tweak that allows to get Cortana working over the Lock Screen in latest Windows 10 Build 14316. Your device should have support for Hey Cortana feature for enabling Cortana over Lock Screen.

Steps:

  1. Search for “Regedit” in Cortan search box and run it
  2. Navigate to HKey_Current_User\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech_OneCore\Preferences
  3. Create DWORD value string with VoiceActivationEnableAboveLockscreen. Set value as 1.
  4. Reboot the PC
