Microsoft Edge Browser

Microsoft has started pushing the new Microsoft Edge browser to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users.

Specifically, this update is available for (non-Enterprise) devices running Windows 7 SP1 or later versions and Windows 8.1 or later versions that are either Home, Professional, Ultimate, Starter, or Core editions.

Devices that run these editions on Active Directory or Azure Active Directory domain are also excluded from this automatic update.

The new Chromium-based version of Microsoft Edge provides:

  • best in class compatibility with extensions and websites.
  • great support for the latest rendering capabilities
  • support for modern web applications, and powerful developer tools across all supported OS platforms.
