It now seems Microsoft has decided the official name for the upcoming major release of Windows 10 which has a weird codename 19H1. A PowerShell screenshot from Tero Alhonen has recently revealed that Microsoft is again following the same naming convention that they stuck to in the past. If everything goes as planned, Microsoft will be calling it Windows 10 April 2019 Update when it becomes ready for public roll-out.

The Redmond giant has experimented with lots of names since the first build of Windows 10 rolled out to the public and never really aimed to stick to one. Nevertheless, it a good thing for consumers as the same naming convention will create less confusion due to it being the thing that they already got used to. However, things change just in a blink of an eye at the Redmond campus so there is always some percentage of likelihood of it happening otherwise. As we are approaching April, we are expecting Microsoft to come out with something concrete on the name in next month.
